FireProtect 2 detects smoke and does not react to water vapor thanks to a bispectral optical sensor with blue and infrared LEDs. The LEDs emit light at different wavelengths, which allows the sensor to determine the size of the airborne particles and only respond to smoke. The smoke chamber of the sensor is protected from dust, dirt and insects. Even if dust gets in and settles in the smoke chamber, this does not threaten detection and does not worsen it. The optical system is designed in such a way that non-volatile particles or insects cannot be in two beams at the same time and provoke a false alarm.
Two built-in thermistors are responsible for reacting to rising temperatures. Thermistors are outside the sensor for faster threat detection. If the room temperature exceeds 64°C or rises at a rate of 10°C per minute, the sensor recognizes this as a rapid increase in temperature and raises an alarm. The temperature alarm can be triggered even if there is no smoke in the room.
Synchronous alarm of fire detectors
The sensor supports synchronous fire alarms. The function activates the built-in sirens of all Ajax fire detectors in the system when at least one of them is triggered. In the event of a fire, this allows you to notify as many people as possible at the facility. FireProtect 2 detectors have an advanced synchronous alarm algorithm that activates the sirens of all fire detectors in 20 seconds. The function works only when sensors with a hub are used.

Work without a hub
FireProtect 2 sensors can be used without connecting to the Ajax hub. In this case, the sensor notifies about fire alarms with a built-in siren and LED indication, but does not send notifications to the user's smartphone, Ajax Translator or PRO Desktop.
Manual and automatic testing
FireProtect 2 regularly checks the condition of the batteries and sensors. If a malfunction is detected, the hub will instantly send a notification to users and the monitoring console. And the sensor itself will turn on the corresponding light and sound notification with a built-in siren and LEDs. All sensor states can be checked at any time in Ajax applications. The sensor supports manual testing mode. The mode is activated by pressing the front panel of the sensor. The front panel is equipped with a mechanical button, so you can press it either with your hand or with a mop. During the test, the built-in siren starts and the sensors are tested. This allows the installation engineer to test the device at any time, as well as demonstrate to the client the light and sound indication of the sensor at various types of alarms.
Jeweler communication technology
Jeweler is a radio protocol for fast and reliable two-way communication between the hub and connected devices. The protocol provides a range of wireless communication with FireProtect 2 up to 1700 meters. Such a communication range allows you to install sensors even on very large objects. Jeweler is responsible for the transmission of alarms and events. The radio protocol also ensures the activation of a synchronous alarm of fire sensors in 20 seconds in a system with any number of FireProtect 2. Thanks to Jeweler, users and the monitoring console can always see the current status of the sensors in Ajax applications.
Fast installation and connection
To install FireProtect 2, you do not need to disassemble the sensor housing. Replaceable or non-replaceable batteries are pre-installed and the SmartBracket mount can be removed from the sensor without tools. The SmartBracket mounting panel has a degree of freedom of 90°. This allows the installation engineer to align the position of the sensor after installation. The sensor connects to the Ajax security system in less than a minute. It is enough to open the Ajax application, scan the QR code and add the device to the room and security group.
